The rise of data analytics is causing organizations to take more and more ‘data-driven’ decisions. The usage of data analytics by companies will only increase over the next decade. InterimLife applies the latest techniques in the field of algorithms and machine learning to the matching of interim professionals. We do this by collecting and applying data in behavior, qualities, soft- and hard skills and performance.

The ultimate goal for me as secondment entrepreneur has always been to provide the best candidate for the client. Through the years I have specialized myself in this area. Times have changed, but this challenge will always remain.

All this knowledge and experience has been, in collaboration with IT experts, processed in the algorithm so that InterimLife is able to make faster and better matches between employer and interim professional.

I am Taren, entrepreneur and always open to new challenges. For over 20 years I am working / entrepreneur in the secondment industry. For 12 years I’ve been co-owner to a secondment business specialized in providing high quality professionals to pension funds and insurers.

In 2017 I have written the book “Intakegesprekken & Detachering” to help interim professionals with conducting intake interviews.

In my spare time I play golf and my big passion is travelling.

I am Wouter, an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial front-end developer. I have been active as an interim professional for a number of years now, and I know how things go in this market. In 2016 I have started my online CV builder ‘CV-template’; a beautiful adventure that, with currently more than 500.000 users, has become a big success.

In my spare time I roast my own coffee beans, am mountain biking or I continue to program under the guise of ‘hobbies’.

My biggest frustration? Assignments that don’t go to the best qualified interim professional because the qualities are recognized insufficiently. Even if the interim professional disposes of the necessary skills, the right experience and outstanding achievements, there are multiple factors through which the match does not occur. In an ideal world an assignment should always go to the interim professional that is qualified as the best one for that assignment.

We at InterimLife are going to change this. Quality of the matching is our central aspect, so that it is instantly clear to the employer which candidate matches the best to the assignment.

I am Mark, eternally young, enthusiastic and entrepreneur. I love developing fun, successful and new concepts combined with the newest technologies. Furthermore, I have a passion for creating assets and am a coffee-lover at heart.

I have an amazing, entrepreneurial and sweet wife who makes the most delicious artisanal caramel waffles and in addition makes sure our son Dean is never lacking anything.

In my spare time I like to venture out with my family and/or with my friends. Also, I can enjoy a glass of whiskey or a bottle of special beer immensely.

Machine Learning

To ensure the highest quality possible on proposed matches on InterimLife, we make use of machine learning. The matching algorithm is being trained on the combined data of candidates and assignments. Mathematical formulas ‘reward’ the algorithm for a good prediction and ‘punish’ the algorithm for a bad one. This machine learning technique maps out which competencies are important for different functions.

The advantage of using machine learning is that mathematical algorithms view the ideal proportion between data variables better than a pre-programmed search-algorithm. Also, a lot of variables get taken into consideration which are individually unimportant for the chances of a successful match. Taken together, these variables can be important. An expert can therefore overlook this while the algorithm does include this data. In this way machine learning at InterimLife provides better matches and thus a better user experience.
